Day 15
Last night I had to take a picture of Lisa's elderly cat. She is very stiff and has trouble cleaning herself. But she looked so relaxed!!!
Up early today so could get showered and go to Orland and then go out to Newville Cemetery with Dick (Dee's husband). He had to take a form off of the cement slab he poured for Velma's marker. It is so dry out there and SO quiet. Not even the birds were singing or the cows making any noise.  He raked the leaves in the family plot and then washed the 3 markers on the ground. The squirrels dig up dirt and throw it on the markers. Plus, the one of the grandparents apparently was a roosting spot for some birds!!
On the way out to the cemetery, we passed a restaurant that we used to like to go to when Grandpa Pete and Gramma Grace lived in Capay. It used to be called Casa Lupe. Now it's looking run down  and is a BBQ place. The road out to the cemetery is in very bad repair. Near the cemetery, Dick said a lady has been painting circles around the potholes and leaving messages.

Lon and his Mom resting with the relatives under a beautiful oak tree.

Here is Dee's obituary that will be published in the Willows Journal
After we came back from the cemetery, we had some lunch. and then I went back to Chico to Michaels to get some flowers to take out to the cemetery later. And to Costco to get watermelon.  The small ones (2 per pkg) are so good.  We ate several melons at  Jackie's :-). Then to my brother Bud's house. My sister-in-law Linda and her sister, Leslie and I sat and visited and tried to solve the world's problems. Linda fixed a fantastic dinner. Used a new method to cook London broil. Boil in water in sealed bag until set temp reached.  Then broil for few minutes to brown.  I will have to ask Linda about what the technique is called.  (Sous vide)    Check it out here

It's great to see my brother and Linda and her sister. Haven't seen them for 2 years. Last year when I came out I wasn't feeling good and bypassed Chico and all.
That's all for tonight.  Falling asleep so better quit before I publish something I shouldn't :-)
Nite all. Hugs.
Carol
