Day 16. Monday, August 14, 2017
****Updated Tuesday, August 15, 2017 to include picture of Jamison!
Enjoyed the day today with Jackie after sleeping under the quilt I made for her 13 years ago.  Was nice.

Spent the afternoon by the pool while she swam and I knitted a scrubby and we visited.  It was in the low 80's today, first day in 48 days that it wasn't over 90 degrees in the Sacramento valley.  Supposed to warm up some but not back to 100's in the near future.  Purple flower is potato bush.  Beautiful flowers.  With a huge black bumble bee!. Couldn't get his picture - too fast.

Jack brought me some Kubota figs, fresh picked from his tree.  They are sooooo good!!  Could have eaten the whole bowl but was a little afraid of the possible consequences! :-)

Today we could hear the almond harvesters going around us.  Orchards all around.  Then on the way into Woodland to have dinner with Jackie's kids, Jeana and Scott and their families, at Jeana's house, we passed an almond sweeper.  It sweeps the almonds into rows after they have been knocked off of the tree.  He was really slow! That's why Californians say "ammonds" - because we knock the "L" out of them.  :-). They are harvesting field tomatoes also so it's a frequent sight to see tomatoes on the side of the road, especially on the on and off ramps of the freeway.

Group picture of the family gathering. During this visit we were able to FaceTime with Tina and her family, so the cousins, etc. could meet.  Was fun.  Everyone sure enjoyed the "tele-visit".

Everyone relaxing on the couch after a wonderful dinner of chicken picatta, fresh corn, rice, melon, salad, and a delicious ice cream cake.  Wonderful memories made seeing all the family.
Once again, it's late.  Headed for bed.  Going to town for lunch tomorrow.
Good night.  Hugs <3

*****Tuesday am.  Just realized that Jamison wasn't visible in the above picture.  So am including one with  everyone except Julie (Scott's wife) who is taking the picture.

Tonight I will post pictures of the rest of the families - the dogs!!!   cl
